Final Totals and Thanks - 2009

The South Shelby Relay for Life is tonight at 6:00 pm. With this year's Relay for Life drawing to a close, here is the final total for the overall amount raised for the 2009 Relay on the Ridge and its ancillary projects:
$1,387.81
This gets us extremely close to our ambitious first-year goal of $1,500.00. And in the middle of the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression, it is safe to say that the initial Relay on the Ridge was a success.

A large portion of the funds over the $600.00 reported after Day 5 came from other projects done in coordination with Relay on the Ridge. Several senior Economics students from Shelby County High School participated by hosting their own fund-raising events. Those students are:
Mandy O. - $284.00
Moose & Wingo (The Dynamic Dancing Duo) - $227.00
Audrey B. & Kelsey M. - $48.00
Mandi F., Renee M., Mandy S., & Maria V.- $9.80

Relay on the Ridge also picked up an additional $230.00 from the SCHS Faculty guys who participated in the Womanless Beauty Pageant. No beauty was involved, but there was some very weird fishnet...

Final donations to Relay on the Ridge came from the following people, whom we would like to thank for supporting the first of many Relay activities:

Mary Lowery, Jill Knight, & Jeannie Wortham - $14.01
Mike & Dawn Arnold - $50.00 (originally reported as $30.00)

This $1,387.81 is part of the overall total raised by the SCHS Wildcat Team which, as of 8:56 am is $10, 178.40. This year's goal was $10,000. It has been a privilege to be a part of such a successful and motivated team. We are already looking forward to next year's Relay for Life and next year's Relay trip.
